A groin injury is when you have an injury or pain in the groin region. This particular region contains a huge number of muscles and also the hip joint. The two main causes of such groin injury are either having it in the past or recently. In these cases, you become more prone to such groin injury. Apart from these two primary reasons, there is one more reason which is popular cause of groin injury and that’s if the muscles of the groin are not strong enough to support the sports that you are playing, then too you are quite prone to groin strain.

The identifying symptoms of a groin injury are pain in the groin region and depending upon which muscle/structure in the groin has been injured, the region of pain can slightly vary, however the origin remains the same. Depending upon the region, the groin injury can be adductor muscle related groin pain, lliopsoas related groin pain, Inguinal related groin pain and Pubic related groin pain.

This pain becomes worsen the more you exert the muscle, by doing more exercise. The groin injury depending upon its course and duration also are of varied types: -

Ø Acute Groin Injury: — This in particular is experienced during sprinting, playing football.

Ø Chronic Groin Injury: — In this kind, the pain comes up slowly and gradually after each activity and then after few sports’ session reaches peak.
